Just back from a week away in Terrigal which is in the Central cost. A place full of beautiful beaches and cafes and about 1.5hrs from my house. Perfect. We rent a house for the week. We beached and swam we went fishing at the entrance,
My son caught a fish. It was his first time fishing. very memorable. It is a bream, a little to small so back it went. but the next day we ate a beautiful flounder.
We also went to the Australian Reptile park at Somersby. Excellent for kids. Most displays are at their height and the shows are all designed to educate them in a fun day. All my kids from 3 to 19 enjoyed the day. www.reptilepark.com.au
The funnel web milking was quite scary but interesting. Definitely worth the money. It is not and all day park about 4 hours should see you easily seeing all the displays. Check the website before you go so you can include the shows and photo opportunities in the time you are there.
The trip up there is always interesting so the portable DVD player is a must but i also got onto a little websitehttp://www.momsminivan.com/printables.html that has car games for kids except it was american. so i am planning on creating similar games but with Australian icons.(stay tuned for the upload)
The site also had the printable game of squares where there are lots of dots and you have to compete against someone else line by line till you make a square. I haven't played this since high school when there was no casual teacher but it was a lot of fun. I could also see it as a great game for my son to improve his strategic thinking skills as he has to think ahead to see if i would get the square or not.
The boutique gifts shops that are everywhere in Terrigal gave me some fun ideas for crafting over the holidays.
The cat is meowing and the children are waking must dash
